Nachos are a staple movie-going food item, but just about every ingredient at the theater fails to reach the keto bar. Overly processed cheese and corn chips aren't quite it if your goal is low-carb-fueled weight loss. But don't worry, Jennifer Banz has you covered, and you can use that Copycat popcorn or anything that comes next to dunk into this delicious sauce. This one could get messy in a bag, so try it at home

This single-ingredient keto-friendly snack is about as easy as it gets. Sure, you can simply snack on pepperoni straight from the bag, but if you're looking for some mid-movie crunch, why not toss them in the oven for a few minutes? Follow along with Wholesome Yum to learn the trick, and pack them in your bag for a night at the theater.

That's because they're so low-carb that you can eat the whole recipe if you get lost in the story and lose track of what you've eaten.

Store-Bought Snacks to Bring to the Movies
While it's easy enough to bring the last five snack recipes to the theater, it's easier still to grab something at the grocery store or from Amazon. These six snacks will satisfy whatever craving you can throw at the screen (just make sure you're not throwing tomatoes!)
#1 Paradise Green Crispy Broccoli
You will simply not believe how perfect a keto snack these bite-sized veggies are. Broccoli is naturally high-fiber and high-protein, and to top it off, the other two ingredients are palm oil (a healthy fat) and sea salt (perfect for your keto diet). Keto Snacks You'll Find at the Movie Theater Counter
What could possibly work for the keto diet at the movie theater counter? Two points to consider: first, all sorts of commercial establishments are getting hip to the low-carb and healthy diet ideals that many movie-goers are seeking, and they don't want to miss out on the opportunity to sell to that crowd; and second, some of the original standards will actually work in a pinch!
#1 Hot Dog, Hold the Bun
Admittedly, hot dogs hardly qualify as healthy, but they do qualify as keto (even if lazy keto), and they'll work in a pinch for a special occasion night at the movies. Grab a hot dog and side of mustard (not ketchup), and get creative.
#2 Frito Pie, Hold the Fritos
Also known as chili, grab a spoon and enjoy this keto option as a special occasion treat. You'll stay within your macros and will certainly get some extra sodium, so keep your bottle of water with you to wash down the yum
#3 Dark Chocolate
While a bar of Hershey's dark chocolate probably won't cut it for the keto diet, there are a ton of movie theaters offering some great brands of 70% or higher dark chocolate. This is the perfect any-time snack, but at the theater, it will totally hit the spot when your friends are downing Milk Duds and Whoppers.
#4 Mixed Nuts or Trail Mix
A lot of theaters these days are offering mixed nuts or trail mix as the one healthy option at the snack counter. As a keto dieter, you can totally work with this. Mixed nuts are basically all good to go, and if the trail mix option has crackers or pretzels, you can pick those out during the previews.
Avoid the Pitfalls of Movie-Going
The biggest pitfall of snacking while watching is the risk of mindless eating. We briefly mentioned portion control, but it's worth mentioning again. Even if you're eating a totally keto-friendly treat, you don't want to overdo it if your goal in the end is weight loss. Be sure to pre-portion if you can possibly help it.
Another thing to consider is temptation. You might be tempted to skip the keto rules on a movie night and join in with friends on a monster bucket of popcorn. Do yourself a favor and skip standing at the counter. Ask a friend or your partner to grab your no-bun hot dog or other keto-friendly snack to avoid the impulse of grabbing that box of Sour Patch Kids or oversized cup of soda. Stick to what you know will work for you and focus on the movie!
